Bernard Salt's Property Advisory Services sits within the Audit & Risk Advisory Services division of KPMG Australia. Property Advisory Services is comprised of a team of seven specialists and is headed by Partner Bernard Salt.

The Property Advisory Services provides advice to retail and property clients on issues relating to catchment areas, estimates of market size and demographic trends throughout Australia and New Zealand. This work is completed for property developers, investors and retailers. Bernard Salt also provides expert witness support for clients seeking development approval throughout the planning process.

The group uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology with mapping capabilities to extract and evaluate demographic and retail data from locations throughout Australia. This information is used to identify sites for new stores to service specific markets and assess the scope for market penetration of consumer products.

Bernard Salt also writes on commission brief 'article-like' overviews of development projects. This work is often published by the client as a brochure or booklet. These one-off publications written by Bernard Salt often receive wider media coverage.
